In a city almost as obsessed with
brunch as it is with tall buildings and horn honking, the “best brunch in New
York City” is a nearly impossible title to claim. There are too many options,
it is too personal a choice, and what are the universal metrics to measure such
an ambiguous science anyway?
But there are some things regarding
brunch that are certain.
From Third Avenue to the East River, 72nd
Street to 96th, we have called Yorkville home for over a decade here
at Atlantic Grill East! In our
years here, the neighborhood has seen some changes, but we’ll take you back
just a bit further…
Before the European influx in America, the
Upper East Side was a hotbed for Native American fishing. Camps would be set up to fish along the
river for the freshest catch. Now
Summer is almost here, which means fresh market-fresh shellfish! Like a fine wine list, a Raw Bar Menu can be overwhelming - consider this your cliff notes.
Atlantic Grill – A Piece
of Upper East Side and Upper West Side History
In
1998, the Upper East Side got its first taste
of BR Guest with the opening of Atlantic Grill. Over the years Atlantic Grill
has become a local staple of the area, becoming a neighborhood eatery.
Yes, we admit, when we think BBQ and BR Guest, we
immediately think Wildwood! But,
that doesn't mean our seafood spots can’t get saucy too. Check out the bbq sauce recipe below
from the chef at Atlantic Grill on the Upper East side:
Ingredients:
6 oz ketchup
4 oz sherry vinegar
1large Spanish onion
2 cloves garlic
1bay leave
1 pinch cayenne
pepper
2 oz A1steak sauce
4 oz
